Someone wrote that leaving 500 monkeys in front of as many typewriters for an unlimited period of time, these would go out mathematically with the greatest novel of all time. Image
certainly bizarre (especially if we imagine the monkeys sipping a daiquiri with the expression of the writer got bored), but not meaningless.
The thesis advocated by the learned first defines the creative process as a path that leads everyone, sooner or later, to excellence. The mediocre works are explained by the lack of perseverance, stop before reaching the inevitable perfection.
If all we had infinite time to complete our work - whether books, tax returns or knitting, maybe we absolutely sure of their quality?
genius, imagination ... What je-ne-sais-quoi indefinable that separates the mediocre from the sublime are thus only a matter of intuition change? Perhaps only a brilliant artist is better able to skim quickly their vision of all unnecessary items, to find a shortcut to that destination that would see the man (or monkey) to reach common after years and years of tireless work?
Or perhaps each of us has a creative and unique operation, which should not be restricted to an abstract concept of perfection, with all due respect to Aristotle and classical thought?
to us - in all sincerity - this story mainly because there are like monkeys (you will notice that we have entered into the agency's website).
And typewriters.
